New Home Page

Redesigned CPS Website Coming April 15

Cincinnati Public Schools’ external Website (www.cps-k12.org) launches an exciting new look and an easier navigation system starting April 15.

The re-engineered and redesigned CPS Website uses a new Content Management System (CMS) that improves functionality, is more user-friendly and allows faster access to information on the site.

It’s the first overhaul of CPS’ Website since it opened 15 years ago. Existing resources were repurposed to implement the new site.

Parent Survey Invites Input

Take the 2013 Districtwide Parent Survey between April 9 and May 6 to have input on a variety of issues. Parents may take the survey online from a home computer, or use computers at schools and the Customer Help Center in the Education Center, 2651 Burnet Ave., Corryville (45219). Paper surveys are available from your child's school.

CPS Adopts Open Enrollment Policy -- Deadline to submit Open Enrollment applications online has been extended to April 30, 2013

Cincinnati Public Schools adopted an Open Enrollment policy on January 23, 2013, allowing students who live outside the CPS boundaries to enroll in CPS schools without paying tuition.

Neighborhood Schools Invite Families to Enroll for Kindergarten

CPS neighborhood elementary schools will hold a Kindergarten Roundup event from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Thursday, March 28, to encourage sign up for kindergarten classes starting in August 2013.

CPS and Cincinnati State Sign Dual Enrollment Agreement
Cincinnati Public Schools Superintendent Mary Ronan and Cincinnati State President O'dell M. Owens met March 19 to sign a comprehensive, districtwide dual enrollment agreement designed to increase college readiness of CPS students.

Aiken High School Launches New Tech Program
The celebrated New Tech program, offering an innovative and nationally recognized approach to education, begins at Aiken High School in August 2013. New Tech is known for engaging students in project-based learning, using technology every step of the way.

New Carpe Diem Charter School Now Enrolling Students
Carpe Diem is a tuition-free charter school sponsored by Cincinnati Public Schools, co-located on campus with Aiken High School. Carpe Diem uses a personalized blended-learning model that combines digital curriculum with high-quality instruction to successfully educate 7-12th-grade students. The Carpe Diem blended-learning model has an eight-year record of academic achievement, student success, and productive work environment for students and teachers.

New Athletic Hotline Gives Updates On High School Sports
CPS’ new Athletic Hotline — 363-TEAM (8326) — will let parents and students know the daily status of high school games and practices, including during weather-related situations.
